Does anyone know the outside dementions of a M sleeve and a 450 sleeve...how much would you have to bore a stock M block to run stock 450 sleeves?

I don't know but back in 1983 I put 450 S/Ps(4 1/8 bore) in a Super M .Dont remember boreing it.Still runs GREAT and is used frequently(has lots of power, still! It's kind of a gas hog.Probably my favorite tractor.

i dont remember exactly but my super m had a bad block so i found a regular m block and bored it to fit the 4 1/8 sleeves and pistons so it can be done no problem

I figured it could be done with no problem but wasn't sure if it was the same or would need to be bored to fit.

Maybe I need to start over from the begining and tell you what I am trying to do. I have a complete 450 that is good but I want to use the block to built a big super motor. I also have a good m block, so I want to put everything out of the 450 into the m block but don't know if it will need to be bored out to fit or if the sleeves will slide right in. Thanks for all the help.

If you want to put 450 sleeves in an M block, the block will have to be bored.

I put 4 1/8" pistons in my SMTA a couple years ago. The block didn't need bored but he's talking about putting 4 1/8" in an M block. The M block will need bored for that. Original pistons for an M were 3 7/8" and the over size piston for them was 4". SMs were 4" with the oversize being 4 1/8".

Back in the day some guys put 4 1/8" pistons in an M block by not using a sleeve and just honing the cylinder walls really good. That was considered the last overhaul.
