super c starter missing spring etc...

I have a starter off super c. It never had a problem cranking, never noticed that starter was missing parts. we just got the tractor a year ago, doing a complete restore, going back together now, i noticed starter is missing spring and maybe the cap the spring rides in, the two washers are there. Can i get these parts, or do i have to get whole bendix etc...

Get the new style drive replacement for the original. Much better, and reliable. there will be no separate parts for it. New is by far the best. Jim

If you already have the new style drive there will be no spring. Most likely that is what you have because the old style will not work without the heavy spring.

Owen is correct, the New type does have a very light spring in it if I remember the illustration I saw. I assumed yours was toast. Jim
