I have a 300U with the distributor driven hyd. pump. everything works well until the oil heats up and then I loose most if not all my lift on the loader. Added an after market P.S. unit which surprisingly hasn"t cost me any more loss. But no improvement. Have cleaned the screen in reservoir.
So now I"m down to replacing the pump? I think? But can I find a pump and if so will I still have me wimpy lift? Can I go with some after market pump that will work? I can work wrenches but never claimed to be tractor mechanic. I like the tractor but I need more lift!

Thanks for any advise!

Get yourself a I&T manual your orfice and screen in flow control valve is plugged.Flow control located near hydraulic controls.Scott

You need to determine if your system is staying on high pressure or not. If it is it will heat excessively and cause poor pump performance. This could very well be caused by plugged orfice in regulator valve assembly or settings on aux valves single to double action having been turned too far due to broken or bent roll pin. Hydraulic pumps for these tractors are extremely expensive so you surely should have it flow rated before you even think of buying a new pump.
