Hello guys,

Just signed up this morning. Glad to have found you. Just wanted to say hello and tell you all a little about me.

My family has been farming in North Florida for better than 100 years. Currently we have 53 acres that my grandfather purchased in 1940, all we do really is run a few head of cattle and grow a little bit of peas.

My grandfather quit farming with mules and bought a JD "L" back in the 40's, wish I had that, and then moved on to the farmall's. He had an "A" or two and then settled down with the 140's. We still have the last 140 he purchased new in 64'

Over the years my father and I have aquired 3 more 140's and just about anything else you can attach to the 140. Anyways, I will try to post some pics of our on-going restorations, we don't get in a hurry so be patient. I will also try to help out with questions that I can answer, my father is a wealth of knowlege on the 140 and i'll drag him over if needed too!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

We haven't started the next project yet, it looks like it will be in the next few weeks. Waiting for it to get a little warmer first, highs have been around 65ish lows in the 30's!

The next project will be our newest 140, I think it's about a 1977 model. I'll have to look at the numbers. We have had this one for a few years now and have done nothing with it. It was purchased about 20 miles away, we took the trailer and when we got there we also bought a ton of implements. So, we loaded the implements on the trailer and I drove the tractor home. This one is going to be pretty simple, just clean and paint. It is a real straight tractor that never did more than a family garden.

Oh, by the way, all our stuff is Fast Hitch. What a great system.

I am also trying to find wear parts for an 18" Plow Chief.

Well, we don't have a heated shop or anything...

Figured I would just rub the weather in a little bit, Check back on me in June when it's 160 in the shade here

Welcome. There are some real experts here, and almost everybody who writes in wants to be helpful. Occasionally, there is some guessing going on, but mostly you get solid information. If you look at comments on YouTube, you often find smart alecks and wise guys who think their role in life is to put other people down. This almost never happens here, and I hereby express my appreciation to everybody who has ever written in with helpful comments. I've gotten some good info here from other members. Thanks!
