SA Cultivators

What model cultivators fit the Super A.
Are they on the IH part site.
I need a pictorial of the complete set and how they hook to the two bolts on the block.

Thanks,
Dell

Tom, that is what I was looking for. Thanks.

I have a piece that looks like it would attach to the to bolts at the square mold on the block as indicated by the arrow. I tried to make the arrow in red but it would not work.

I will get photos as it warms it later today.

Dell-
There are a few things that I know attach to that part of the torque tube, but I don't believe any are part of the cultivators. The fertilizer hopper bracket mounts there, and the main fertilizer/planter frame mounts on the next set of bolt holes closer to the driver. Also, the snowplow uses a flat plate with a brace that mounts on the flat square surface you specified. Please post a picture of the part you have and I will be glad to help you try to identify it. I have an original A-144 cultivator manual I can look in if I see what the part looks like.

Tom

On the pallet of misc. SA cult. parts were 4 of these (pic).
Because of the shape of the mount I thought it might fit the bolts on the torque tube.
If they are not for the SA, does anyone know what they fit.
Thanks,
Dell

Those are the rear gangs. They mount on the back of the tractor using the same studs as the drawbar. It looks like there is some sort of potato plow or row making shoe on the cultivator standard. There should be two gang assemblies to mount onto the rear of the tractor. The one pictured goes on the right rear so the bar curls around the tire and there should be one for the left rear that is the opposite shape. The bracket 3/4 of the way down the bar is where the rear lift rod attaches to with a hook. It then goes to the rear rockshaft behind the seat. There are two ways it can connect. Some have a bar going across the rear rockshaft and the lift rod has a part with a roughly 1" hole to slide on to the bar. A cotter pin is then put on each side of the lift rod to hold it in place. The other setup uses a piece on the lift rod that has a stud which goes through one of the holes of the rockshaft and a cotter pit is put through the stud so it doesn't slide back out. I hope I haven't confused you. If you go back to the CaseIH website, the first way of attaching the rear lift rods is listed under L-14 and the second way is shown under L-20(A). If you have any more questions, let me know.

I have two pair of the rear gang bars. There is a difference in the distance between the 2 mounting holes of about 2 inches where they mount to the drawbar bolts.
Any idea why one pair would have wider bolt hole spacing than the other?
Thanks,
Dell

This is just a guess but I looked on the CaseIH website and the mounting bracket looks the same for a Super A 144 cultivator as a Cub 144 cultivator. I am guessing that the cub bracket may have the shorter distance between the mounting holes, but again, it is a guess. Can you read the part numbers on the brackets? Maybe they can be matched up with the numbers on the parts website. Hopefully this helps.

Tom

The gang in the photo is the smaller of the two.
I was thinking Cub also.
I will have some time to check numbers in the morning.

Tom,
Does your book show the seeder and sidedressers for the SA.
If not does anyone know the model numbers for the SA seeder and sidedresser attachments.
Thanks,
Dell

(quoted from post at 09:01:26 02/26/10) I got a cultivator manual from Binder Books. It shows all the pieces and how they look together.

Do you have the exact manual name or item number for Binder Books? I wasn't sure which one to order.

Thanks,

Jimps in GA.
