Best way to remove decals????

I just purchased a 666 international and the previous owner put 686 decals on it which is the long black stripe. the paint is excellent. I would love to just remove the decal and put my new ones on without having to repaint the panel.

I use a hot air gun. Just be careful, as that can bubble the paint, too.
Heat slowly until you can hook one edge of the decal, then pull slow and steady while heating.

I"ve herd you can put mayonnaise on the decal and wait about five or ten minutes an then it will pill right off but I"ve never tried it

use an eraser wheel, auto parts stores or body shop supplier will sell them, about 20 dollars, its a gum rubber wheel you chuck into an electric drill and it will rub the decal off without damaging the paint.

Rusty, I scanned and emailed you the wiring schematics for your tractor. Let me know if you receive them.

(quoted from post at 17:38:56 02/25/10) use a hair dryer, they dont get too hot and work wonders for removing decals

I've removed many a bumper sticker using the hair dryer method.

I used to work at 3M (retired) and they make a wheel for decal removal. Trouble is you sometimes have a hard time finding these 3M products, but usually they can be found at a auto parts store. The wheel is a -- 3M™ Stripe Off Wheel 07498, 4 in x 5/8 in with Mandrel. You can go to mmm.com and search for that. Roger

Thanks a bunch guys! I took a blow dryer and got it started peeling off. Once it started it all peeled right off.
