outer bearing on countershaft

Hi guys, I am attempting to stop a leak of diff oil coming from the countershaft on the boss"s H. I"ve got the seal and retainer off but the bearing (it"s shot)will not come off the shaft! I can see that the end of the shaft is scarred close to the threads so I"m assuming this has been apart before. I may try using the dremel to cut into the inner race and then split it with a chisel. This won"t be fun given the location of things. Any ideas? Thanks,Ron

Thinking out of the container. Removing the ball retainer/spacer/cage and letting the balls get to one side can allow the shaft to move far enough to get the balls out (sometimes) if not, grinding a slot to remove the balls can then allow the outer race to be removed, then the inner can be delt with more directly. Keep grit out of the trans!! good luck. JimN
