Farmall M starter

A man contacted me wanting to buy a starter off of a Farmall M. I've never sold parts off of a tractor, so what would be a fair price for it? Thanks.

$30 to $50 would be fair. A rebuilt one runs beween $165 and $175.

If it works, and has fair brushes, about 80 to 90$
It really depends on what a used starter will bring where you live. Look for price spreads on Ebay. Jim

If I was told 100.00 for that starter I would pay the 165.00 for a rebuilt one and know what I was getting and with a warrenty.
Those starters are not that rare.

I just sold an H starter of unknown functionality for $35 last week in norhtern NY. I think they're the same as on an M.

I never like to spend more than half of a "new" one when I buy used parts. I would personally buy it for <$50 or I would keep looking. It would cost another $100 to rebuild it if the price didn't go up in the last five years.
Do you know it works? How did you check it? When did you check it? What if I install it and it doesn't work? Just thinking of things I would look for out loud, no need to answer.

Edit - I PUT GREATER THAN $50 THE FIRST TIME!!! Not this cheapo.

hi i sale a rebuilt one with a 90 day garantee for $80.00 plus $20.00 core and any shipping so i would say about $40.00 to $50.00 if it works
