McCormick-Deering 10-20 price?

I found a 10-20 for sale that the guy says runs good. He is asking $2000 for it and I was wondering if that price seemed right or what you guys think. The serial number is kc 136020. Thanks.

Its high but you cant fix one up for that

That's what I was thinking. That one doesn't look perfect, but it looks decent.
You are always best spending the most money you can afford and getting the most. You NEVER save money in this game by buying a basket case and doing DIY work.

They had a 10-20 advertised in the Lancaster Journal in Lancaster PA for $5000.00 dollars. This was several years ago and I've never seen it
again. It's not cheap to restore one of these old tractors. Hal

The picture shows a '28 which was my grandfather's. I paid $1200 to get it at the auction, not quite running yet. Sat in a barn for 35+ years. They are neat tractors, if you want (or need?) it, I think it's worth it. I hate seeing these tractor's in someone's front yard as a lawn decoration.

Just a note: the original governor on this tractor has had a variable-governor fitted to it. IHC made retrofit kids, and so did some outside suppliers of parts. The long rod running to the steering wheel from under the gas tank gives this away. This is not a bad thing, by any means. The original governor really worked only when the throttle lever was in wide-open position. IHC fitted variable-governors to the tractors with this type engine, but I don't have a date--about 1937, I think. I owned an F-20 a few years ago that had the IHC retrofit kit. They did a clever job of making an outfit that could be put on the older tractors, right in the original governor housing.

My 10-20 has the throttle conversion on it. I really like it. It is much more useful for belt work. And liek the others said you can't even begin to fix one up for that money.
