674 won't start

tractor ran out of diesel and will now not start .No diesel appears on pipes leaving injector although plenty of diesel entering injector pump. What is the problem?

Hi Colin, make sure you have bled all the air out at the bleeder screws on top of the fuel filter(s). With the STOP/START/RUN lever on the START position and throttle 1/2 open and if you have an air compressor gun and clean cloth stick the air gun in the fuel tank filler and seal with a clean cloth and slightly pressurize the fuel tank, now start cranking the engine with the starter. WARNING DO NOT crank the starter for more than 60 seconds, then let it cool for a couple minutes, then crank engine again.
IF the above dosen't work then you will have to loosen the nut on one of the lines from the injection pump to the injectors at the rear of the injection pump and then crank engine again.

BECAREFUL when loosening nut on injection line as the Diesel fuel is under 3000 plus psi and can cause serious injury.

Hope this helps
