Hey guys, The starter on my 340 Farmall has taken to hanging up more and more lately so it looks like a new bendix is in order. I remember Hugh McKay saying there were two different types of the drives. Does anyone know which one is recommended. This starter has a solinoid on it if it makes any difference. Thanks PUTTER

The old style drive has a larger return spring and no over running clutch at the pinion. The new style has a weaker spring, and a clutch like device at the pinion. Go with the new. JimN
