1944 M Fuel Tank Mount

I am working on a 1944 M. I took the fuel tank off, however due to age all the rubber fell apart upon loosing the nuts. I looked at the parts diagram, I know I need a rubber mount piece between the tank and frame mounts, but what actually goes between the frame mount and the nut? Is it another rubber piece or just a washer? I can't seem to tell from the diagram I have. Any help would be appreciated.

On my H there is a short compression spring followed by a washer with the nut on the bottom of that. I am guessing an M would be the same, but I don't know for sure.

Are you talking between ID 45 and the deck??? Nothing goes between there. The only thing that should be in place are 41 1 60672D GASKET FUEL TANK INSULATING PAD, large (S/N FBK 24215 up ).
They don't make the long one for the front anymore. Don't waste your money buying "the originals" from OEM etc. They aren't the right thing anyhow. CNH still has the rubber mounts for the radiator in front available and they pawn those off as "original" gas tank insulators. My dealer had the insulators for $3 a piece. At RPRU they were $8-10 and I carried mine in my pocket comparing them to "the originals" all day and they were the same EXACT thing.
Other people have had great luck making them out of the sidewall of a tire. Just take your hole saw and punch the right size hole in the sidewall and ream out the center hole. Done. They are pretty much the same thickness as the originals and they are really tough.
So the short story, save your money and buy them from CNH or make them.

for the long front rubber mount, i use a truck mud flap and cut the part out. keep your eyes open along the road for em, a lot cheaper that way!!

(quoted from post at 17:53:43 02/19/10) I was looking at the parts that mount on the underside of ID-45.

Nothing there. If it looked like there was it was just a big chunk of rust. When I took my H apart I had that happen. It was kind of weird.
