I have a bunch of stock parts from a closed dealership that i would like to sell but am not sure how to go about it.There is a lot of stuff that i know people would love to be able to find.I have a parts book for 300-350 farmall an have found quite a few of part no.in it.But there is a few parts that look expensive and wish i knew what they fit. Most is still in IH boxes.I know a lot of people have quit messin with Ebay. What would you fellers do? Thanks

I suppose I could become a middleman here but I will save myself the trouble.

Case/IH is currently closing out its parts only dealers who sell less than $150,000/year. In New England, because of some agreement worked out with a NE dealer association, IH has to buy back all the under-performing local dealer's unsold inventory. There is no age limit on the parts. The company is paying something like 90% of current dealer cost. They are also paying the shipping and labor to package and inventory the parts. This is going on right now so there is no time to waste.

I suggest you call Charlie at Village Power in Berlin, MA. I think they will be willing to buy your parts as a lump sum purchase. Google Village Power for telephone number. Good luck. I think you may have some significant value.

they aren't making these parts anymore, you really don't know where they will end up when CNH takes them back. There are guys dealing in NOS IH parts, maybe they could make a lot purchase from you.

google search the part numbers, many turn up a result with a price and description. consider whether the price is dealer list or private party. adjust your price to where you are comfortable. then have at Ebay, yt classifieds, or your favorite marketplace.
or make a web page with numbers, descriptions and prices. figure out how to get yourself to come up on first page of google search so when people google a part they are in need of, your site comes up, they contact you, and you make a sale.
a and i and tis-co dealers have access to interchanges, you could find one willing to help you identify the parts in their interchange (many will cross, some will not)

Thanks for some good ideas.Karl f how do i get google to work?I typed in 366566R1 and it just came up with some weird stuff.

I just copied and pasted your IH number and got a full page of Power Steering Wheel Cap. Google says there are 651 hits for that search.

I have a set of Case IH where used microfiche cards. If you emailed me the part numbers of the parts you would like identified, I would see what I could do for you. Email is open.

Find someone with a master parts list to help.
366566R1 is sold aftermarket, so a NOS one in good shape should be worth at least what they sell for or probably more.

googling the way i said to is like a slot machine. i should have warned you about that. However, it works sometimes. putting IH or caseih or international, etc in with your part number may help.

good luck

It also takes a little effort. I copied an pasted ONLY the part number and every hit on the first page was something pertinant. The second hit was the OEM page with the price ($80) and application. Bang, done. TRY TO HELP YOURSELF!!!

Do as karl F says and keep the middle man out of it. That way you get a fair price and the buyer gets a deal he can live with and keep collecting.

sflem,

I think we are wasting time here for several reasons.

1. He hasn't mastered the google protocol.

2. He doesn't understand that the email function here should be activated when the discussion turns to buying or selling.

3. He hasn't indicated where he is located.

4. It appears he wants to retail everything he bought at the liqudation sale. Of course that will never happen. He will be lucky to move 25% even if he uses eBay and every tractor flea market in his area. That is a signigicant investment in time and money with a low likeihood or a decent return.

He should save those items that are likely to move quickly at a good price. Everything else should be offered to an interested dealer. Bates Corp and Villiage Power have already been mentioned. Village Power can resell to a quaranteed buyer at a good price. It doesn''t get better than that. Third option would be to unload to The Parts Depot at the link below. They deal in NOS obsolte tractor parts.

Just sayin...I typed the exact p/n in and got a page full of hits. Not one bogus lead on the first page. Did you use Google or just a search engine? I think www.google.com is the best search engine by far.

I think you best bet is going to be wholesale of the items esp if you don't do the computer thing very well.
- eBay isn't hard, but it takes a lot of managment and there are a lot of fees associated with it.
- Craigslist is free, but doesn't get nationwide exposure
- Swap meets are time consuming and somewhat expensive by the time you take fuel, time, and entry fees into consideration.
- Classifieds on yt mag/red power/others? just don't get enough traffic to get them sold.
I think I would cherry pick the high dollar, easy selling items off the top for eBay and then wholesale them to a retailer. Parts Depot is cool, they buy up old dealer inventory and then the dealers can buy it back if they need it someday. Don't know much about Bates, other than I don't use them much. Tisco is more aftermarket stuff, I don't know if they do NOS. OEM are greedy Aholes, but they might buy some of it.

Sometimes you gotta have your faults pointed out to you if you want to move forward in life.

There really isn't anything people can do to help but point out what you're doing wrong. If you're gonna take it personally, then there's nothing anyone can do to help you.
