Super A - came with no hydraulics?

Could it be possible that some Super A's did not have the hydro pump under the fuel tank?

According to Guy's book IH had them as an option for the Super A, so its possible.

The reservoir is under the tank, the pump is below the distributer. I suppose there could have been a delete option, but it would be very rare.

Fiend of mine bought a new Int. 300 without hydraulics, I think he ordered it that way.

Hydraulics were an option on the larger tractors, however hydraulics are the only difference between the A and Super A.

Thanks Guys, I'm faced with a delema... is my tractor a Super A without the hyrdo or is it simply a seat bracket that has been placed on the tractor at one time? The tourque tube suggest Super A... I pulled a pto/belt pully off a real A and the shift tube (to engage the pto) does not match the transmission. Is there any other way to truely determine if this thing is an A or Super A?

does it have a spot for the hydro pump on the right front of the engine, right under the dist/mag? If it has a block off plate there thats a good sign it was one.

Hydraulics were an option on the Super A. But it would have been rare for one to not have it. There are a lot of other differences between an A and Super A. The PTO engagement sleeve on an A had 2 lugs that engaged the transmission shaft. The Super A was a spline.

That's right - the engagement sleeve for the pto (spare) that I have has two notches. The reciever in my trans is like a 10 leaf clover. Will a "A" engagement sleeve from a traditional "A" work for what my trans has?

my father has a super A we think???. It needs a head it has no hydrolics on it but the tag under the seat says super A then the # it think the number shows it is a 47

If there is a cover plate on the engine below the distributor, and a flat spot on the torque tube under the gas tank, it is a Super A with the hydraulics removed.

There is no way to know whether it came that way or if a previous owner removed them.

No, you need the matching sleeve from a Super A. If your A PTO is one of the later ones, the rest of the parts are identical to a Super A. You can swap a Super A sleeve onto the A PTO.

Thanks Jim and all, I will try swapping the shifting tube to a Super A and use the A PTO setup.
