Super MTA Diesel Carburator

I just bought the Super MTA Diesel that I posted about a week ago. The carb is dirty and needs to be cleaned. How should I do this. Do I need to soak it in cleaner for a few days or take it completly apart and clean it. There is no kit available any more so I hate to take it completely apart because each piece has to be bought seperatly and they are very expensive.

If you soak it in carb cleaner for a few days it will usually disolve important stuff as well as gunk. Are you sure there aren't kits available? I got one for my MD, but that is a slightly different motor. I think I got the stuff I needed from the dealer. I don't think I ended up getting a kit. I am 99% OEM has a kit for the MD bc I thought why wasn't that around five years ago!
In the end, I am lazy. I would just blast some carb cleaner through it and you might get lucky.

Really isn"t much to them. My Super MD sat about 25 years before I bought it. I took the carb apart, cleaned it, and reassembled. I reused everything including the gasket and it works like a top. Just take your time when disassembling. It maybe time for yours to get the rebuild kit. I was lucky, looked like mine had been done before they parked it. Kits are still available to my knowledge.

even Stiner, carries the main body gaskets and manifold gasket. OEM for sure has them, as sflem849 says.

Is his the same carb as ours?

BTW - I think I am going to man up and drop the cash on getting the injectors rebuilt.

yup, MD though 450D are the same, i think even the
WD9-650D are the same.

Youll be pleased with getting them redone, it made a
world of difference in mine.

Clean the carb thoroughly BEFORE soaking it or you may end up with more gunk in the ports than when you started, plus you won't have to buy a new can of cleaner every time you do a carb.

The F8 is used up through the TD14, with only minor differences. Over the years there were a few changes to the throttle plate design. Even the 18 uses the same bowl and float parts. They are easily cleaned. The main problem area is in the fuel line attachment and just inside where the fuel turns upward to the needle. That little cavity can sure collect some crap.

Also, if cleanliness is maintained, injectors are not hard to take apart and clean. Reassemble with anti-seize on the crush rings. Sending them off means they will get pressure tested and that is usually needed.
