Does anyone know of a 1256 Demonstrator? I know of one, and the tractor is red and white w/black fenders. The tag says 1256 D. Ser.# is 11945S/Y.
On the fender it says demonstrator. I am not aware of any 1256 demos. Were there any?

No, there were not any 1256 demonstrators. 1456, 1026, and 826 were the only demonstrators I believe. Those were gold and red colored. The tractor you describe is someone's personal creation and is worth no more than any run of the mill 1256.

Never seen one with black fenders. The only thing a dealer might have used it as a demo tractor and painted them black and wrote demonstrator on them.

IH painted some 544 hydro, 656 hydro, 826 gear and hydro, 1026 hydro and 1456's gold in 1970. no list has been found of which serial number tractors were painted gold from factory. lots of people are replicating them today.
