Cool tow rig (with pictures)

Decided to sell my truck (just to high to load firewood into), didn't know if anyone of the Farmall guys would want it to haul their tractors to the shows? It was our towns firetruck until 2009, than we took the firetruck bed off & made it into a dumptruck. There is not a spot of rust on it, I put 6 brand new tires on it, best part, it's only got 12,000 miles on it. It's got the gas motor & will do highway speed w/o a problem. Just looking for an offer, it's gotta go, it's got over a grand in new rubber.

Nice truck. But what will it get 4 MPG? Most any pickup pulling a flatbed will get at least twice that. And if I keep under 26,000 I don't need a CDL. Sure I could license the truck under 26,000 (depending what the factory GVW is) but hook it to a trailer and you are over by default. I had a truck once and big ideas but I gave it up.

What state are you located in? I'd be interested in it for a firewood hauler if you're not to far from MN. Judging by the photos though, you're a ways from MN. I don't see any snow!

That is a neat truck, but I'll bet it gets "yardage" instead of mileage. Still, I wish it were not so far away..... mike

Throw a DT466 with a big Allison automatic in there, and a gooseneck on back, and you'd have a pretty neat tow rig.

Good call, you could ditch the dump box for a fifth wheel plate and you would be dragging you tractors around like the dealership back in the day!

I like the old butterfly hood, marker lights and spotlight. Reminds me of the "68 Loadstar chassis school bus I drove; hmmm was it a 345, four speed w/spit shift?? that was in 1976. What year/model is it? I see no tachometer, radio, sweaty vinyl seats and agree, it would be "yardage" for fuel - close to 1,400 miles back to the Badger state. Imagine a tilt-bed would cost almost as much as gas for the old girl. Could you dispose of that dump box? Slap me silly, I shouldn"t even be thinkin" bout it...but...my Farmall 340 sure would look "purdy" goin" for a ride on it wouldn"t it!
