Looking at a super a farmall, motor stuck, head is off,he didnt draine antifreeze out before removing head , when he took head off the atifreeze got into oil, about 14oz. if thats possible.steering is loose, needs one rear tire, but tractor is complete and looks ok, what would be a fair price to offer him. Thanks Rick

You can get a good running Super A for around $1500.

Unless you can get it CHEAP, like for $500, it's not worth your time.

What about the tin ? Hydraulics? How long has the head been off? 600.00 seems high to me personally. Just cause he accepts your 600.00 "offer" doesn"t mean you still have to buy it. As other"s have said, you can find a running model for 1000 - 1500.00, which will probably be a cheaper way to go !!!!!

Rick i say if your ok with 600 dollars then its a good buy for you . i gave 400$ for a forty A without sheet metal because i was friends if the deceased owner . There is also the 230 that i had tried to get from another friend but he passed away before i could get it bought . after several months i offered the family 1000 dollars for a broke down all four tires bad stuck engine tractor they wanted more. His greedy family fought over the place for two yrs. auction time finally came. I was determind that tractor was comin home with me. I was three days out of rotater-cuff surgery and three thousand dollars in my pocket i sit on a stump in front of the tractor for 3 1/2 hours waiting to bid on my tractor only two bidders an older gent and me the old man looked at me and said, son anybody in your shape must really want that old hunk-a-junk to sit out here this long and quit bidding i got my "snooks" tractor for 700 dollars

Brian2! What do you mean? Even if he accepts the offer you say that you do not have to take it???? If he is truthful and he offered $600 for it that was an OFFER! A promise to BUY it! Where is your ethics or logic? Legally you do not HAve TO BUT AN HONEST PERSON WOULD IF HE MADE THE OFFER.

That's a little agressive, in my opinion. The offer was not accepted when made or he would own the tractor. To me, an offer not accepted when made only remains valid if I specify a time frame that it remains open. NO ONE is obligated to honor an offer for an unspecified time. It all depends on how the OP made his original offer and what happened after it was not accepted.
