Early 1939 Farmall A

I found an early Farmall A for sale with serial number 2124. I am just wondering if being made this early would make the tractor worth any more or be more desirable than a later model. The serial number plate is located on the front of the floor pan instead of on the seat bracket which I think they only did on the very early ones. Thanks

In short not really, i had one even earlier then that and i could not get anything more for it then a late one. I think the main reason being no electric start and no lights etc... Id say that if you had serial number 502-700 or so it might be worth more. There worth some in parts though with the special hood fasteners and a few other items that were only on 39's. good luck id say if the price is right then get it but dont expect to make a whole lot of money on it either.
