redpower??????

I know this is problably not the right area to ask this and if so i am sorry. Does any one know how to get to post on redpower forum. I have tried for weeks now to get permission, when i get registered i cannot post because i am not allowed, then a few days later i cannot even log in. What does it take to get in there. I have a few IH and would like to ask questions. Any info would be helpful. What is with them??? It is very troubling to me that i cant even get a reply from a administrator on what i am doing wrong.

You can ask any IH or Farmall questions right here, Plenty of knowledgable folk on this very forum who would be more than happy to help if they can.

If you have letter series tractors, or anything built before about 1960, this forum is infinitly better than RPM. RPM discusses mostly later models, with a bunch of chatter mixed in, I look at RPM daily, usually less than 10 minutes, vs 30 minutes-2 hrs on this one depending on the discussions. On RPM, follow the instructions, and check the box that says "always logged in" or something like that. Then you will not have to use your password to log in. I probably haven't had to log in for 5 years. You should be able to email the person who runs the forum. Keep trying.

I have been a member over there for more than five years. I can't remember the registration process.

I just snooped around at RPM and noticed the most recent member (Jim2500) joined on 25 January. There are probably 30 others who filled out applications since then but are in "validating" status. Apparently, someone checks email addresses for "no fly" potential. Maybe the gate keeper is on vacation. Be patient, don't worry.

Don't know if the link below will work for you but it shows the most recent applications. You should also go to their homepage and click on everything. There may be some registration details and policy statements that pop up.

I agree with CNKS that most of the discussion on Red Power is post 1960 whereas this site has the most discussion/information on pre 1960. Both are good sites and I have never had any trouble posting on either site.

It took me a couple of weeks after I registered before they cleared me to post. I did e-mail them asking about it but they never replied just later on I recieved a clearance of somekind. Don't remember for sure .

thanks every one. You are really a good bunch. The questions i have are concerning a international td15 b series dozer. i have not put it in the shop yet to start going over it, but as soon as i do i want to start getting info.

They basically just don't bother to keep up with stuff and monitor the requests- and don't seem to care much. You have to call on the phone, and they are pretty flippant about it, don't want to talk about why, don't have time, etc. Never seen owners of a site act that way before- the gal set me up while I was on the phone, but said nobody's watching the registration requests??? I had waited for several weeks, and nothing

Jared, I'm in the same boat. I recently signed up but have not yet been "approved". I'll either wait long enough to be able to post there or lose interest in posting there, we'll see which one comes first. To be honest this is about the only site you may ever need. Lots of very well- versed individuals on all makes of tractors here.

i like both forums, RP is more mechanics and farmers. This site seems to be more the hobby type. both have their place. I won't say which I like better as I get on both. Don't kid yourself, there are plenty of people on RP that know the letter series, it just wouldn't appear that way, but if you ask a question I can bet it would get answered just as well.

I tried a year and a half ago and never was authorized. Haven't been back since until now and I'm still not authorized. They have my name and password.

Agreed. Generally the problem is they got tired of answering alternator and oil questions a long time ago. This one seems to have picked up the slack for the hobby people. And both sites have terrible search facilities. I don't know what is up with the RP membership problem, it is treated badly, but they reject offers/attempts to correct it. And every spammer attack is given a knee jerk reaction that limits new memberships severely.

Any IH discussion is welcome at RP from what I have seen. If people would post more about the older tractors there would be more discussion. (I would welcome that--I like em all) Can"t talk about anything if nobody says anything...

Had no trouble signing up. Took all of 10 minutes.Next day, I was authorized to posy. Just had to follow link that was sent by e-mail.
You may have to add their address to your e-mail address book so you can receive that e-mail.

I thought I read something somewhere that stated they were having problems with the approval system, and that it was going to be a manual process until it was fixed.

Looks like maybe they got it fixed?
