Im going to try this again as I dont think I stated it correctly on my previous post. Hope this is ok??? I have a friend that is looking for an original 400 farmall engine adapter for the olds 454 engine. He can be reached at cell 815 378 1314 home 815 547 8962. His name is Greg he lives in northern Illinois. You can also email me. Thanks Mark

You can make one using 1/4 plate then there is the problem of the pilot shaft to the Olds crank. Then check the starter drive for length and meshing with the engine ringear.

As Gene indicates every one is an original. There are no kits or adapters made for sale. A plate will need to be CNC Plasma cut, then machined and mated for both engine and Clutch housing. 454 is a Chevy displacement. Olds is 455 (and not at all similar) Jim

Thankyou for responding. Yes his trying to mate the olds 455 v8 to the 400 engine support. I guess Im wrong the adapters werent original but some guy was making them years ago for the olds 455, buick, pontiac, and cadilacs. Anyway yes thats what my friend is looking for. Sorry it took so long to respond, busy week for me. Any advice on who made these adapters or who may have one for sale would be appeciated. Thanks Mark

That is the first thing I thought as well :D not to mention...ROCKET BLOCK!!!

Kevin's Machine and Welding on Carvers Rock Rd in Avalon, WI can make one for you. Just north of Clinton, WI. He is pretty good with that stuff. I never heard of a kit for doing it esp with a 454/455. Usually they are cheap, available motors like 350/351. Kevin could get you going on the plate to go to the trans and the motor mounts.

If the 350 adapter plate is redily available, it should be easy, the bellhousing bolt pattern in the same small to big block, the only difference would be the "ballance" on the flywheel/flexplate. but if the flywheel is available its fairly easy to change the ballance on the flywheel by adding or removing weight in the right spot... just FYI.
