I have a 1961 International Utility with a c-135 and am wondering if another engine is compatible to bolt right on and run. Gas engine, no TA. Any help is appreciated - hoping to find a used motor cheaper than rebuilding.

All blocks are similar from 340 to 404, 504, and their industrial versions. They are not all sharing the same internals, and in some cases the front housing will need to be swapped out (as well as other minor things) Earlier engines are not practical to install. Largest stock of the series is 153cid, but it is not a sleeved engine. Many good engines can be found on swathers, combines, and Power units, these might need to have the crank shaft drilled for a pilot bearing, Also be careful of starter location. A front mounted starter will not be the same rotation as a rear mounted one. JimN
