MW 9 speed M vs SM

Is there a difference in the 9 speeds on an M vs a SM?

I know the countershaft is bigger on a SM and the ratios are different on 2-4...but I did not know if they made to different 9 speed kits or if they made them all the same.

Thanks for any help,
Brian

Yes there different, 4&5 sliding gear and 3&4 gear on the counter shaft. Along with all the parts that press on the counter shaft. Range gears are the same M to SM. On a M with M&W the 4th gear ratio stays the same as IH. On a M&W set up 4th in a SM is slower than the IH 4th.

Thanks for the reply D Slater...would you mind calling me for little more explanation? My cell is 618-527-3175.

Thanks for help,
Brian
