706 bosch injection pump

I bought a 706 with a 310 german diesel. The bosch injection pump is leaking, (where the throtle cable connects to the shaft which goes into the bosch pump) The tractor runs good. Can I replace some seals/ o-rings/ or should I have it rebuilt. Any ideas would help.

You can replace the shaft seal in that pump yourself. It does involve some disassemblbly but not to bad if you have the service manual for it. Seals and gaskets can be purchased thru a CaseIH dealer or from a pump repair shop. If that's all that's wrong it should only run a couple hundred at a shop, BUT if the pump needs hard parts it could easily run north of two grand. Most hard parts are no longer made for the German Bosch pumps so you have to find remaining old stock ones or have new ones custom made. Good Luck.
