My '66 was born with square, but Calcium killed them both within the last five years. What kind of bolts are on the factory round-hoop rims? Standard hex, I assume?

My 1978 140 came with the older style square loop rims - but when I had to replace them I bought the round loop rims and used hex bolts to put them on. The old style rims you were supposed to reuse the old brackets on the new wheels (seems like a lot of work to me - and what if you dont do it perfectly) and now I have a spare rim and tire for my tractors.

The round loops work best with carriage bolts. On the left side you can use standard Ford or MF bolts since the wheel center is stamped steel. On the right, the cast wheel is too thick for those so you need longer bolts. McMaster-Carr has longer ones on line, but I don't remember the length I used. You should get Grade 5 bolts, which are harder to find in carriage bolts. The Carrier bolts will not turn when you tighten them, so you only need one wrench.
