Farmall C engine

Ok so my dad and I are taking up another winter project of a Farmall C engine overhaul. He wants to go with a 3 1/4" dome pistons in it, so I really didn't object to having more power. Got the kit and the sleeves don't fit at all. the sleeve don't go thru the hole with the o-ring in, stops on top of the casting. He said he ordered the C123 Super C, 140, 240 kit. It's a C113 still at the standard bore. I need some info ont his quick because he's already talking about getting a different block for some reason.

You need to bore the block in order to fit that size sleeve. The biggest piston that you can fit in 113 block is 3 1/8" piston. The 123cid will fit the 3 1/4" piston without boring the block. You have three options either get the right sleeve kit for that C block (3 1/8") or bore the block to fit the sleeves you have or get a 123 cid block. If you look for anouther block you need one out of a late Super A, Super C, 100, 200, 130, 230 etc. Personally i would try and see if you can exchange those sleeve you have for the right one, or sell that one you and by the correct one. Good luck

That tractor came with the C113 cid block and you can boost that to 123 cid with an overbore kit.
No block machining is required.

The sleeve kit with the 3.25" pistons are for the Super C. They won't fit this block. Exchange them for the 3.125" sleeve kit. Hal
PS: The block in the Super C was p/n 354898R1.

For the C-113/C-123 blocks there are two sizes of bores (in the block) for the sleeves. Most (including your C) have a 3 5/16 diameter where the o-rings seal. The 354898 block (R1 throught R4) has a 3 7/16 diameter bore where the o-rings seal.

Your options at this point are either to return the kit and get the correct one with the smaller outside (and inside) diameter sleeves. Have your current block bored out by a machine shop to accept your larger sleeves. Or to search for the 354898 block. If you choose to search for the newer block beware, unless I'm very much mistaken the 100/200, 130/230, 140/240 all use blocks with a 3 5/16" lower opening diameter. So you would be looking for a block from a '53 or '54 Super A or Super C.

Hope that helped. Sam
