Farmall H side/engine shields

I've seen a couple of pictures with H's having side/ engine shields. Are they fab-ed up or an option from IHC?

IH never offered engine shields for any letter series Farmalls. My guess they are someone"s attempt to funnel heat into the cab.

I agree with MNScott--they were probably home made. They look kind of neat though. But they should help heat the cab but might help the engine to run warmer than normal also.

The IH mounted corn pickers had shields for the sides of the engine to keep trash off of the hot engine -- fire prevention.

The ones for our M were flat on both sides.

IH had screen shields that came with a mounted 24 picker, I have a set, but the picker went to the salvage guy. Wish I still had it as it was in good shape and worked well. The set I have fits an H, I think the ones that were for M's were larger. We had a neighbor that used a 24 on an M, it was a tight fit. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD0
