| Sorry guys about the vague description, I was alittle frustrated about it. The tractor has been sitting awhile. I completely cleaned the carb and flushed the gas tank and line. I have great fuel flow. I did check for spark and I do have spark yet it is alittle weak (with new plugs) So i ordered a tune up kit for it. But today I did find a hole in the manifold. which is probably my complete problem. So After I fix that we'll see how I stand. Thanks for your replys |

| | You need to do the "process of elimination" to determine whether its a fuel problem or an ignition problem. With the ignition switch in the on position pull off a plug wire and have someone make an attempt to start the engine. You there's good hot spark to your plug you can eliminate the ignition. Then check the fuel system. Pull the gas line at the carburetor and see if there's a full stream of gas from the tank. If that looks ok pull the tube fitting from the carburetor and look for a screen that may be blocked with rust or dirt behind the fitting. You should have gas running out the carburetor bowl if you pull the plug. Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor while someone makes an attempt to start the engine. There should be good suction on your hand. You need good intake manifold vacuum to suck that fuel into the engine. To have good vaccum you need good rings & sleeves not worn plus good valves that are seating and are not leaking. Hal |

| pretty vauge description. you checked for spark, so is there spark or not.was the tractor running before you worked on it and how was it running?was the carb soaked in carb cleaner and blown out with air and the passages checked? my idea is ,need your info first.could be as simple as no gas to carb to points need filing. is it dist. or mag? reminds me of what the frenchman said when his horse died,... you know its funny he didnt do that before! |

| Are you sure you have a good clean supply to the carb? Sometimes you can hold the jet up to a light and look through it, it will "look" clean but still have crap in it. Run a small drill bit by hand through it. If you did all that then you should be good in that area. Is your timing correct? Do you have any more details? It would help out more in determing your problem. |
