Can't seem to find a diagram of this on Case/IH parts lookup and my manuals are not here yet. Pictured is the back (engine side) of the instrument panel. Is there a cover that goes here or does the battery box (which fits tightly in the space) handle the job of covering the wiring? What is fooling me is the two threaded holes at the top of the opening which make it look like there should be a cover. |

| The batt box covers the space and the two threaded holes is where the batt box bolts to give the whole assy support. |

| | I don't know the Super As that well, Dave, but it looks like a similar setup to the Super Cs. My SC (a '51) has two sides and a lid for the battery box -- the back of the battery is open to the cavity of the panel, and the T/C unit makes for the front. (There was a fourth piece, a front panel, available to close in the front on Cs without T/C or -- if there even was such a thing -- a SuperC with a T/C delete.) The common factor, was the open front (or back, all dependin' on where you're standin') of the panel. As for the bolt holes on the top edge, if the side panels bolt up like they do on the SuperC, those holes hold up the top-rear corner of each side piece. On the Super C, the one to the starboard side is also where the battery grounds. |

| | Hey there working class, good to see you around! Did a wee bit of research on this the past couple days and that is the reason for the question. Do not have a Super A or a C in the inventory here so not familiar with how this works but got to looking at the tractor and was thumbing thru Fay's book (which sort of gives the SA a once over lightly compared with the other chapters) and came to the conclusion that the box MIGHT just be an integral part of this panel. So I asked the question and it turns out to be a good guess. Appreciate the help...now I thinks I need to scare up a battery box before I start rewiring and such. New ones come dear... The hunt is on. |

| Two types of battery boxes, the fully enclosed one bolts to the holes, the other has 3 individual pieces and does not have a rear piece. They should interchange. |

| That would tend to explain why nobody is answering my ad for a "instrument panel back cover", LOL. Appreciate the info, guys! |
