what numbers do i look for to identify what engine i have and what numbers for the head also where is the head casting number located thanks

After 50 pluss yrs and no telling how many owners or engine rebuilds the only way to know would be remove the head and take measurements. Head could have been replaces. You just dont know unless you would tear down.

I know the head part number is under the valve cover. I think that's where you'll find the casting number also.
