Brought the M home

I posted earlier about bringing a '48 M home. Well, we got her home this morning. 22 deg and a cool breeze, 16 miles on a small pony tank hanging off the side of the big tank.

Had to fiddle with it a bit along the way, but made the trip as best as can be expected. Runs strong! Lost the muffler about half way, my buddy stopped and tossed it into his truck. Rust had gotten it. The pipe in the manifold was toast as well. I stopped later and grabbed a new nipple, tapped the manifold to clean the threads and tossed a new muffler on. THat's about all I had time to do with it today....now back to work and a long week of dreaming about my new toy! :)

wow, that is a nice straight m. doesnt appear to have been farmer-ized, and looks like all the original parts are there. good find!!

They came off of the same farm. They were seperated a year ago. Sat in the weeds for years. There were 4 total a super M, 2 Ms' and my H. The other 2 got good homes. This M came back on the market due to lack of interest, I snapped it up. :)

That's great that all got a good home. Now, you can "toss" them into your garage and work on them as you get time. You are going to enjoy them I am sure. I can never decide which I like best - my SH or SM. mike

just got my Cub home under same conditions, then had to leave for two week work hitch. then had to go to take wife to visit with "new" grandson. oh well some day!!! good luck, d. coleman

Stumpy--great find! Even though it was a cold ride home, I can only imagine how much fun that was! Please keep us in the loop on your progress with pictures of course! Steve
