I posted earlier about bringing a '48 M home. Well, we got her home this morning. 22 deg and a cool breeze, 16 miles on a small pony tank hanging off the side of the big tank.
Had to fiddle with it a bit along the way, but made the trip as best as can be expected. Runs strong! Lost the muffler about half way, my buddy stopped and tossed it into his truck. Rust had gotten it. The pipe in the manifold was toast as well. I stopped later and grabbed a new nipple, tapped the manifold to clean the threads and tossed a new muffler on. THat's about all I had time to do with it today....now back to work and a long week of dreaming about my new toy!
