frame weights for Farmall C-230

I am looking for someone who has frame weights on their C, Super C, 200, or 230. I have a couple of nice chunks of thick steel that I want to adapt and bolt onto the front of my 230 that has a Fast Hitch. I want it to look nice, so I want them to be as close as possible to the size of factory frame weights. If you have a set, could you please measure them and post the L, W, and H? I would also like to know how far the holes are from the front or rear of the weight. Thanks!

Might be the weekend before I'm home in the daylight to do it, but if nobody comes up with it sooner, I'll measure mine up for ya. IIRC, the originals wrap a litle bit around the grille and front casting and are about 85# apiece. If you've got a Steiner's catalog from a couple years back or older, they used to list them with a picture.

Hi, Leo. I got a chance to get out and measure my saddle weights.

The overall dimension of each one is 2-1/2" thick x 7" tall x 17" long. Trick to that is that they each extend forward of the grille and are shaped so that at the forward end they come in on a radius to wrap around in front of the grille a little ways.

For mounting, the top bolt hole is centered 2-1/2" below the top and 6-3/4" forward of the rear end of the weight. The bolt holes are recessed about an inch, with the recess large enough to allow getting a socet over the bolt heads. If memory serves correctly, they are 3/4" bolts.

Sorry for being so long getting back, but hope it helps.

The originals are about 85# each

Scott, Thanks for the info. I was in no real hurry, it's just a winter project I have put off for a couple of winters already. The steel I have is 17 3/4 x 6 x 3 thick. They weigh 87 lbs, so I should be right at 85 lbs after all the holes are drilled! I thought they wrapped around the front, as I have a set for 300-450 that do. I know these won't look exactly like factory weights, but I do want them to look nice and be mounted about the same. Instead of wrapping, I may drill two holes in the front edge of each one and bold a 1/2" plate across the front. That would be a bit of a bumper and should look good too, I'd think. Thanks again,
Leo
