Please would somebody let me know what the torque settings should be for the cyclinder head and crank on a International 484, also would like the tappet settings as well. Thanks for the help. Neil

Hi Neil, I don't have book for D-179 but have book for the 4cyl version D-239.
The cyl head bolts are to be tightened in 3 steps, 30 ft-lbs, then 60 ft-lbs, then 90 ft-lbs.
There is a bolt tightening squence.
Both exhaust and intake valves are set to 0.012 inches.
Flywheel retaining cap screws 110 ft-lbs.
The main bearings have different settings depending on the type of cap screw all with lubed threads, tighten in 3 steps, 30 ft-lbs, then 60 ft-lbs, then final step as below:
Necked down bolts marked:
10.9K set 80 ft-lbs, 12.9K set 100 ft-lbs.
Pitch diameter bolts marked:
10.9K set 105 ft-lbs, 12.9K set 141 ft-lbs.

Necked down bolts have a shank diameter of 0.410 inches. Pitch diameter bolts have a shank diameter of 0.500 inches.

Hope this helps
