Charlynn Power Steering parts

Hey guys! Am trying to piece together a power steering system for my Farmall 400. Have found a working Charlynn motor but guy says it leaks and is missing the hydraulic block where the lines go in. Motor is off of an M. Anyone know what style or series of motor this is? Am trying to find a seal kit and that block for it. Or maybe someone knows where I can find these parts? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Steiner's has the block for $70 plus shipping. They also sell new CharLynn Torque Generators which is what you have. The block is essentially a chunk of steel with two through holes, and four blind holes with two of them having threads.

Any hydraulic repair shop can get you what you need as the CharLynn TG is still in production.

Go back three or four pages to find link to Steiner's PS page. Or search on 'Steiner's" here at YTMag.

If it were me (and I have done it), I would use Behlen/IH parts as outlined in the F400/450 parts book. Those parts come up on eBay frequently. Wait for a complete system.

Well I have been watching systems on ebay and the last two factory Behlen systems sold for $800+. Plus I have heard the Charlynn systems are better. Something to due with the Behlen units have the flow divider off the hydra-touch system. Thought it was said they slow everything down and I dont really want that with a three-point and loader.

The priority flow divider has nothing to do with whether it's Charlynn or Behlen... you will need it with either if you run off of the tractor's live pump.
I don't know much about the Behlen unit, but the Charlynn is a cleaner more in-line unit. The Behlen appears to use a gear motor and I believe the Charlynn is a gerotor type, so it's more compact.
Dad had a Charlynn on one of his JD 60s and I have one on my 240U. The 60 had a Saginaw (GM) pump and worked great. My IH is tapped off the live pump through a PFDV, the primary feeding the steering and secondary to the 3 point and aux. valves. Idled down, I lose my 3 point.
