I just bought a swd6 engine stuck. I freed up the engine and got running on gas. I took the water trap bowl off and cleaned the screen put back on and cracked the glass bowl does anyone have or know where I might find a bowl for this thing. also I bought a shop manual and it talks of a compression knob to pull and I can't find it don't have the operators man. Supposed to reduce compression. Thanks for any info will be greatly appreciated Marti from Mo.

that i believe is the lever on the left side of the steering box, throttle on right side.the left lever should be down i believe for decompression or gas.have so many tractors always need to think the way each one operates as the wd9 is oppositte the wd6.you would tell also by using the starter. it will crank slow if its still on the diesel.as far as an actual knob to pull i dont think it applies to the swd6 as i have never seen such a thing.to get it started have it on decomp. turn on ignition switch, pull choke on, and push starter lever. usually need to vary choke or keep half on till it starts gaining rpm. then let it warm up on gas for a min. or two and switch to diesel by lifting decom. lever and you will hear it click, and open trottle the right lever about half. she will be running on deisel now. push in ign. switch.

Any Case IH dealer has them. I think they are still a active part. Bates is expensive I have bought stuff from them before just because I couldnt find anywhere else. Just my 2 cents. The compression lever/knob is the one right above the shifter. Pull it back to decompress and ahead to compress/switch to diesel. Make sure you switch from diesel to gas to shut down and then back to diesel to seat valves.

Thanks to all who replied I have a bowl coming from local IH dealer 14 bucks and some change Bates was 17.50 and he had to order it so IH was quicker. Thanks again Harold
