Farmall 350 Utility

Hi, I've never really been around Farmall's so I was looking for some advice.

I was in a friends barn yesterday and spied a 350 utility in the corner. I asked about it and he said that he doesn't use it much anymore and would rather be rid of it. I was wondering where I could find information on how many of these were made with the gas motor? How do I tell if it is the wheatland or hi clearance version.

Condition: Sheet metal fair, tires were nothing to write home about, it did run pretty well. What do you feel is fair for something like this. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.

Thanks, chris

If it is a utility it is actually considered an International. Quite a few of them around and an estimated price would be about as accurate as a 10 day forecast. I have seen them sold anywhere from $1000 to $3500. Power steering? fast hitch? Very nice handy tractor depending on its purpose.

Utility version of earlier Super H, H, W4. Depends somewhat on year- the power steering was common on later models, not so common on earlier models- option that original purchasers didn"t want to pay for if they wern"t planning loader usage. I have a 350D Farmall, handy little thing with fast hitch, good garden tractor, PTO use-especially on 14T baler, wagon hauler but not best for loader work. $1000.00 for basic runner, add for power steering and heavy front end for loader work maybe another $500.00 to $1000.00. Some of the Utilities came with old plain drawbar instead of fast hitch, price drop isn't much as simple pull type implements available more than fast hitch in many places. 3 point kits available, usefull as most of the 350s had good multiport hydraulics available. Some known to not have PTO. Farmall 350 possible as high clearance cultivator capable, International was more often in lower clearance loader tractor. RN

a 350 utility will have 28" back tires and the wheel centers are pressed steel and will be bolted to the axle with (i think) 8 bolts. a hi utility will have 38" tires and cast centers that slide on a bar axle, like the farmall models. there were 860 or so hi utilities made. lots more than that of the plain utilities. most were gas.
prices range a lot- from around $1000 for a plain runner, to $25-3000 for a really nice one. tires will cost a bunch if you need to replace them. check the steering box for slop and/or welds. they are the weakest point on the 300 and 350 utilities and steering parts are like hen's teeth.

I'd offer him $1500. If he says no , don't counter offer, let him think it over for up to a month. Don't look too interested.

Around here it would be about $500-1000 less than a 8N Dorf. Them little Dorfs are exactly what non-farm people think of when they think tractor, so they command a premium.
