Production #s for the BN

I took a break from work and tried to find this for you but could come up with no specific numbers. Only one reference to the BN being a scarce machine which is totally unsupported by my personal experience. When I was looking for a true B it seemed like all I could find was BN's. Must have passed on 4 or 5 before I found an actual B.

You will have to go with Guy Fay's production numbers which should be correct because all A, AV, B, and BN use the same serial number series so there is no way to tell by serial number.

Well I bought one, well in the process, and am just wondering how many were made. As many things I have got many #s but nothing the same. I have heard of as few a 1500 and as many as 15000. So the # is still out. I do know that the serial # was lumped in with the A, AV and B so can't go by that. Any idea's as to what tractor equipment will fit the BN. Would the B and BN fit each other or maybe the A? It would be nice to find a plow and cultivators for the tractor.

Whenever I go east or southeast in this country I see all kinds of BNs. But here in the Midwest they are kind of scarce.

Biggest problem I have with all this is: I DON'T HAVE ONE!!!

I have a Farmall BN dont know the serial number but I know its a bn because it is in original condition. I have a 1-16 trailer plow and I dont believe that they made a mounted plow for them. Also the cultivator i have for it is for a B. I know this because I have the original manual. Correct me if Im wrong But I was pretty sure around 14-15000 were made.

There were mounted plows along with many other implements. A implements won't even be close to fitting. B implements are similar but usually have a few key parts that are specific to the exact tractor model. The front half of a cultivator is the same but there are differences on the rear (No surprise there right?).

The page of info where I got the BN is linked below (IH Listing)
