That 300 High Crop has been relisted

It now has a starting bid of $5000 and a Buy-It-Now price of $9500. I still think it would do better at a live auction or maybe at the next RPRU.

I'd like to have a High Crop but I have enough projects.

I guess we know who is selling it now...Wardner, you sure do seem to be everywhere this tractor is...

This guy is kind of a moron. Wasn't it a no sale at 9000 last time it was on and now it is BIN for 9500!?! He has already paid about 100 in fees so that brings his sale down. It just isn't making a ton of sense to me.

BTW not many antique tractors are worth 9500 to me. And rare really doesn't mean much when it comes to my money!

I, for one, would like to see an end to that type of post. This has been historically a very pleasant forum by contrast to many I have seen and I hate to see it head down a bad road. I doubt you would use the same language and attitude if you had to look the man in the eye when you were saying it. That is my personal benchmark. If I would not say it to your face I won't say it here.

Everyone has an opinion about the value of things and anything is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.I've been watching Barrett -Jackson auto auctions on TV the last couple of nights and I can't begin to believe what some people are paying for these cars. The Wall Street Journal had an article a while back that said basically, with todays economy, antique tractors are one of the best investments that can be made today. Personally I would rather have my money in tractors than I would in the stock market.

Nope, I don't own it but I do support high prices for rare tractors. I realize this is a "how-to-fix-it" board and most could care less about collectabilty or asset appreciation. That's cool. I prefer to buy stuff that is both useful and unusual. High Crops are somewhat deficient in the first attribute. Highly desireable as viewed from the second attribute.

$100 for expenses is nothing when compared to live auction commissions or wide coverage advertising costs.
