Need help, my 48 Farmall M the front races inside and outside, you can spin the races inside the wheel opening. meaning there is wear and tear on the front inside and outside wheel openings. Is there a cure other than finding some front wheels that are not wore like mine. Can these races be knurled like you do pistons. The races look practilly new.

I have used thin metal as a shim between the race and inside of the hub before, pop can works good. The races are hardened and cannot be knurled, you could try knurling the inside of the hubs if you want.

I have taken a center punch and put all kinds of punch marks in the casting where the race fits in and it has tighten them up. Just make sure that you go all the way around the casting. Has worked for me as you have nothing to lose if it don't tighten them up.

Just had this happen on my Super M. Thought I had bearing problems and found that the inside race was turning in the hub. I welded the outside of the race and then ground it down to a tight drive fitnessinto the hub. Seems to have worked. The actual noise was that the bolts were slightly loose that holds the rim to the hub and it had a knocking sound. It really travels when you are on the tractor. Thought I had transmission bearing noise. Has anyone else solved the problem as I have decribed?
