Well I went to look at the BN and it seams to be in fine shape. We looked it over real good and it seam to need work but I think it looks like nothing much. The guy want's 300.00 but willing to get it out of there for less I think. Here's the post I had prior.

I'd offer him a tich less and take it home. Enough parts there to make it worth the money and I suspect that might run again with a little (or a lot) of TLC.

Motor is free and still had gas. The battery box is new and it apears the starter too. I even think the tractor had run last summer. The front tire's are new and the rear are about 70%. As it looks the engine has been worked on because the head looks like it was blasted and it has another color paint on it. I'm not new to the ols stuff. Have two Allis b's and a Farmall 300 and I think this would be a good tractor to get back into working condition. Now what about finding equipment for it? Any thought on finding anything for this tractor? What would fit?

Better take it before he finds out what it is realy worth. If you dont want it i will sure take it and give even more than 300.

The tires/rims alone are worth more than the $300. It also looks to be just in the right condition for a good restoration.

If you don't want it, like Gene says, let us know.

Looks too good to pass up. Even has the replacement gas cap, so it probably hasn't been long since it was used.

On the other hand you could take the $300 and go to the local IH dealer and buy maybe an entry level lawn edger.

There have been posts on this forum about the buyers who are always trying to get stuff for less. If it is worth more than $300 give him what he is asking instead of trying to stick it to someone who doesn't know any better. If you can not afford to pay 3 for it then you can not afford to repair it either, which means it is a bad deal for you. If he is an older guy, and you cheat him, SHAME on you.

Decided to buy. Offered him 250.00 and now it's mine. Will have to get it home now. Will get an update on how things went. Know that I can't drive it far with flat tires but will trailer nicely. Thanks for the info. As to if I stuck it to him with the price, after we got our deal done he said that was just what he wanted for it. So I did well I think.

That's exactly what I would have offered him. I do a lot of buying of used stuff and frankly get a little tired of the people who think you are trying to put one over on them. Negotiating is just the way things are done. He clearly marked it higher than he actually wanted and would have felt no remorse if you had laid the extra $50 on him. Yes, it was worth $300 but he had no interest in fixing it or parting it...so not to him. Good deal, you will have fun working on it!

You can make a profit quickly. Sell the unseen rims to the guy who thinks they are worth $300., and I will tell you where you can buy two news for less than half, or somewhere close!

Wayta, if the tires and rims are in the condition he states, AND if you take the time to read my response, you will NOT find 2 fronts and 2 rears with tires for $150.

If you do, they are for an Ertl......and they won't fit. :?
