460 and 560

460 is a descendant of the H, 560 is a descendant of the M. They have "similar" transmissions but no or very few transmission parts interchange. Engine blocks have the same physical size, but the 560 has more cu in. Rear frame of the 560 is larger than the one on the 460. 560 is heavier and has about 10 more HP.

My 460 was a 6 cylinder diesel with 49 horsepower, the 560 was a little heavier built with 60 horsepower. They were pretty economical as far as I recall. As far as being the same in the rearend /transmissions I'm not sure, but I'm thinking not. my 2 cents.......

Around here they are basically the same price, if your going to tractor ride get a 460, if your going to use it get a 560
