Super A generator /alternator

I have read many previous posts and am a bit confused. Can I take my original generator to a shop and have it converted to 12 volts so I can run brighter lights and a 12 volt battery. I like the original look but would prefer brighter lights as I will be using this a lot at night. It did come with an alternator when I bought it but I have a 6 volt generator off my 340 I would like to use. Thoughts please and price?

I replaced the lights on my Super A with modern 6V sealed beams, and they're impressively bright.

I used cheap rubber housings I got from Harbor Freight on sale for $7 each, threw away the junky 12V lamps, and replaced them with Wagner 4411 bulbs from Tractor Supply. The tractor was missing a headlight and the taillight anyway, so I replaced them all.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with that too. I have a Ford 2N on 6v with the original genny. Not sure where the headlights originated but they use sealed beam lamps and are extremely bright. Make sure you are watching your ammeter. Your genny may need to be adjusted to compensate for the lights as they draw a lot of amps. I use lights mostly in the winter when moving snow and just always run the lights to keep from overcharging. Come Spring I adjust the genny back down and stop using my lights.
