HELP M is stuck in gear

Put tractor in gear got ready to shift to another gear and the shift lever is real loose and won't allow me to change gears. What do I do now?
 
Had this happen on my H once or twice. Mine had a bad pin that keeps the shift lever down and in place to move the forks.

Until I replaced the pin I had to feel around with the shift lever to get it on the correct fork and slide the gear into the disengaged position.

Never had multiple gears engaged at the same time. Mine would just be stuck in one gear but I suppose if I had accidentally got the wrong fork and slid the other gear set it could have happened.
 
IBM, If you pull the belt pully housing off you can get to the forks and try to move them. try and pull the shifter first and line up the rails.
On mine I had to do both to get it free. Oldiron29
 
Just knok the pin out of the shift lrver remove the lever and you can look down and see the rails arent lined up. You can use a large screwdriver to get them all lined up in nuetral. Now would be a good time to replace the pin if its worn and build up the end of the shifter. You mite want to jack up one wheel to relieve the pressure this will make moving the rails to neutral.
