Super a Engine Serial Number

I located the Engine Part # under the Oil filter onj my Super A, It was 251069-R1. I also found the tractor Serial # but it was to damaged to use,it started out as 3??975. I am uploading a
picture oif the right side of the engine. Should the Engine Serial be located where i have the arrow pointing or another location?
I don't see a number on that pad.

yes, you are looking in the right spot. Clean it up really well sometimes they can be tricky to see. Sometimes i will spray alittle paint or spread some chalk dust over the area and wipe it that will make the numbers show up better. Make sure to clean the area off really well with a wire brush and cleaner.

Or clean it up reasonably well and do like they do on gravestones and make a rubbing with the side of a pencil lead over paper. Amazing what that method will pick up.
