IH DT468 engine

Has anybody heard about this type of engine? It s suppose to have a highlift cam and a Bosch inline fuelpump. I ve been told from a IH partsman.

I'm going to jump in here but been a long time away from dealership so not up on the latest. The first 466 engines were stamped just that on block, like DTT 466 or DTU 466 can't remember for sure. Then when they up graded them to the B series engines they stamped them DT467 and then the C series came along DT 468. All were still referred to at DT 466 in parts manuals how ever they included the B and C suffix to identify them. Far as the pump, they may either still have the 100 series rotary dist pump or inline MW series pump depending on application. I never heard of a high lift cam on a production engine, the lifters were increased in diameter, camshaft lobes made wider and I even heard you could get a roller type lifter. Several different variations of rocker arm shaft supports for added lubrication down push rods to lubricate cam shaft lobes. Conversion packages were also available when a cam failed, with hardened longer lifters from a V-8 engine and a shorter push rod to go with it. The B series also had improved cyl heads, inj nozzles, fuel lines etc. Lot of ongoing changes were made to improve product. Of course pullers have many modificatons done but that is a different story.
