Put a carb kit in my SH, there is a small hole around 3/16" in front of the idle screw. Whats this hole for? Should it be plugged?

Not sure if you mean the idle air or idle speed screw. If its threaded and in front of the air adjustment screw the idle speed screw goes there. If thats not it, near the idle air adjusting screw there's supposed to be drive in passage plugs. One slightly behind and above the idle air screw when looking as if carburetor was mounted on tractor. This passage goes straight to the front throttle shaft bushing with branch passages inside. Other plug is above first plug and the passage will go down. If you happen to have a 100 series type carburetor where the idle air screw is up close to the top there's a passage plug in front of it. Passage goes down. If this doesn't help, post the carburetor # located on the little round tag, if its not missing.

The hole is not threaded, its just in front and down about 3/8" from the idle speed screw. If you look in hole you will see where the govener shaft slides into the plastic throttle shaft end where the idle speed screws aganist. I dont have a carb tag. Thanks!

Could be the hole rivet goes in that holds ID tag to carburetor. Is it where the center of the little round ID plate is in this picture?
