I have just purchased a farmall h and plan to restore it. It came with only 1 front wheel do i need to purchase another wheel for front or should it be this way. thanks in advance for your reponse.

thanks for your attention, it sounds like i need to get another front tire to make it the original if i am reading correctly.

Ronnie, You make it sound like you may be just missing a wheel. If it has one wheel centered in a fork, that was the single wheel option as Gene said. It was very popular for cultivating. However it is a pedistile with one axle stub sticking out you need to get another wheel assembly at a salvage yard. That is the standard tricycle front.

If it resembles the situation on the front of my BN when I first dragged it home, then, yes, you're in need of a wheel. Note the open spindle to the right in the picture, which would be where the missing left front wheel of the tractor belongs.

It is a BN, and it looks much better these days and runs quite well. The picture is offered only because I thought it might be useful to a fellow who wasn't sure whether or not he had an empty spindle in need of a wheel assembly.
 
You are still not real clear. If it has a single wheel centered in a fork it is correct as is. If it has one wheel off to one side on pedistle and stub axle on other side (like the picture shown)then you need to get another wheel to make it a correct dual tricycle front.

It could have the hub on the spindle and not the rim also.
