1206. turbo question

I want to replace my solar turbo with a schwitzer 3LM that I have. I need an adapter plate. Where can I buy one? Or should I just try to make one? What other problems am I going to encounter?

I have a 1206 with the wide base manifold it should bolt on just like it is.May need to make a spacer to raise it up a inch.

They make a spacer, it's a little offset but I made my own. I think that it has to be one inch so the aircleaner hose lines up. Also the exaust elbow has to be raised also the same heighth. You might try some salvage yards to check if anyone has a 1206 that might have the spacer plate under the turbo because most have been changed from the solar. One other thing and someone correct me if I am wrong, but can't you change the 1206 center section of the exaust manifold to a 1256 center section so a airesearch or schwitzer fits?

You"ll need the spacer for the turbo only. The on the exhaust elbow for a solar is taller than the shwitzer one on 56 series. The 1206 manifold is shorter than the 56 series. The only reason you"ll need a spacer on the elbow is if you have a 56 series elbow as well to put on a 1206 manifold. I have the spacer you need. my email is [email protected]
