Confused Again/Farmall A

In doing some research on an A culti-vison 1941 they (Farmall Letter Series Tractor: Guy Fay page 23) stated that the Farmall decal with the IH pictogram is wrong for the early tractors and should have been the McCormick-Deering decal without the IH. Looked at several different suppliers for decals and they are all with the IH.

Can someone show me a picture of the right decals.

Thank you.

I have a 40, it had the McCormick Deering decal on it when I got it (barely visible) so yes that's what should be on it. Good luck finding one. I finally did (after I said oh well and bought the wrong one)

Contact Ken at Carter & Gruenewald (external_link). He will know what you are talking about and be able to fix you up.

If you've got the Fay/Kraushaar book, look at the H on p. 60. That's what you want.

IIRC, the Maple-Hunter decal catalog will have them listed as "McCormick-Deering Farmall" as opposed to "IH McCormick Deering Farmall" which would be the later ones.

Just get the McCormick - Deering set and use a scissors to cut the IH off the end.

That's what I did to mine, it's been 12 years and Nobody has ever noticed.
