Farmall - Land USA

Just wanted to put a pug in for Farmalland USA tractor museum in Avoca, Ia. If you like red paint or just like tractors this is a great place to see some beautiful tractors. I braved the western Iowa snow between Christmas and New Years and took the extended family. All enjoyed. check out on the web at http://www.farmall-land-usa.com/

Will try to check it out sometime. Another great place for not only tractor guys but for gearheads in general is the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Old Henry sent out people with money to buy anything they wanted to related to machines. There are a fair number of tractors, including one very early Farmall, there are some airplanes, a lot of cars, some household machines, and dozens of steam engines, one going back to about 1760 (Newcomen, an "atmospheric engine" of the type James Watt studied before finding a way to make the steam engine much more efficient). I haven't been there in some years, but I always enjoyed just browsing around and looking at machines up close.

I didn't think they were open from Nov-Apr? Did you call to request a showing? I wanted to take my family too, but figured they were closed for the winter as the website suggests.

Went There (Farmalland) a year and a half ago excellent display and very nice people who operate it. Very informative displays could easily 2+hours there. Also went to the Henry Ford Museum excellent displays, plan a full day. Excellent American history displays throughout the Ford.

We had a group of about 10 people and they were happy to open it up, had to use the shovel a path to the back door because there was 3' of snow infront of the regular door.
